Let the Shenanigans Ensue with Ill Intentions

Harboring a significant tenacity to encase you with their soundscape, Ill Intentions offers a blood-pumping, head-humming listening experience like no other. Not necessarily because of how they wish to layout their music (that is just a natural side-effect) but more to do with who they are behind all that gnarly music they cook up together. These are some Carolina compadres who are living their lives unafraid, without relent, and with plenty of loud, groovy tunes as a personal accompanying soundtrack.

Hailing from the mysterious mires of Upstate South Carolina, Ill Intentions electrifies their sound with a resonant and rhythmic take on lively punk rock. Safely described as “modern rock,” they could also be coined as “modern storytellers.” From songs like “Sneakin’ Up” (a track that would not be amiss on a Tony Hawk ProSkater game) to “Tag Along” (a track that could absolutely find its way into a wicked cool indie movie), you will find some kind of tale to follow. Whether they are fueled and weaved with any angst or misadventures certainly depends on the tune!

Without further ado, it is an utmost pleasure to have shared a virtual sit down with these cool cats. To whomever has found their eyes on this piece, please welcome Parker, Camden, Hayden, and Brady to the MBM stage!

MBM: Mostly to satiate my own curiosity…how did you dudes meet and how long have you been a band? I’ve seen you live and y’all play off of each other so well! (pun totally intended)

ILL: Parker and Camden met in the middle school parking lot while they both had no one else to talk to (we were both losers). Hayden and Brady actually met in karate, (and) now we’re all cool. We met each other through another musician in a previous band.

MBM: Where do you draw most of your lyrical inspiration from? I’ve noticed some that are rather kooky and angsty, but sometimes y’all hit a real chord!

ILL: (We) would say it ranges, (it’s) all over the place. (We) couldn’t pin it on one, two or even five bands. (We) don’t go for a specific feeling for each song either. Each song kind of (just) tells its own story, and (they) are often stories (that) are exaggerated but it is how I (or we) felt that day.

MBM: Do you have a current venue/bar/area that you enjoy playing the most? If so, where?

ILL: The Radio Room! Wes is our man! We'll never understand why he likes us so much; (so much) to even make us the Grilled Intentions burger. It was delicious, Hayden ate at least six of them.

I’m not even kidding, they sold out of them.

ILL album cover

MBM: Anywhere y’all would love to play? Whether that be a specific place, town, region…

ILL: Red Rocks, we gotta play Red Rocks before we die. But anywhere they’d have us, we’d love to play! The west coast is kinda sick, you can drive on the coast and light up mid show.

MBM: Outside of music, what are some of your other interests? (feel free to answer this one individually!)

ILL: Parker (Lead Vocal) - is “a chocolate milk, and ‘Twea connoisseur”

Camden (lead guitar) - Camden is “the best cook we know!”

Brady (percussion) - Brady is “interested in Parker”

Hayden (bass) - Hayden “held the world record for speed running Minecraft from 2013-2014 and is an entrepreneur… he also has an Eiffel tower worth of empty vape carts.”

MBM: Last but not least…tell us more about what Ill Intentions has in store in the coming months? (reveal as much as you’re comfortable with!)

ILL: To be continued. Thank you Skrillex.

Will they actually collab with Skrillex? Will you wait to see them until they do play Red Rocks in the years-to-come (you shouldn’t because they put on one helluva live show!)? Will Hayden literally construct an Eiffel tower out of those empty vape carts? Will Parker ever get his teeth fixed (not that he sounds bad without them!)? Will Brady’s interest in Parker become more…interesting?

The only way you will ever find out is by following Ill Intentions on their musically-driven and social media documented adventures. Anywhere you can find their music, it’s there! Anywhere you can find them…you will! You'll do right by trying to keep track of their Tik Tok and Instagram!

Until next time, keep your intentions ill (the cool ill, not the sickness or mean kind of ill), keep crankin' your tunes up to 11, and don’t freakin' forget to recycle!
